Our signature wood-care method
We do not pressure wash wood. Instead, we prepare it deliberately so the oil can penetrate the open grain and the final result can be maintained without repeatedly stripping a peeling surface film.
We sand the surface progressively from 100 to 150 grit to remove the previous finish where needed and open the wood pores.
Dust and debris are brushed away before a suitable cleaner is worked in with water to address algae, mildew, mould and organic buildup—without pressure washing.
Cracks and holes are assessed and filled where appropriate so the surface is ready for a clean finish.
The wood is allowed to dry thoroughly. We do not rush the step that makes good absorption possible.
The first coat is applied along the grain so the prepared wood can absorb the selected stain or oil.
A light second coat completes the protection and creates an even, professional finish, following the product specification.
Under suitable conditions, allow approximately 48 hours before walking on or using the surface. Weather and product directions always take priority.
A very thin maintenance layer, applied before the surface becomes heavily weathered, helps extend its appearance and performance.
Your wood looks alive again—and future care is straightforward.
Made for a wet climate
Traditional film-forming finishes sit mainly on the surface. Penetrating oils soak into the wood and allow it to breathe—a practical advantage when Vancouver brings long wet seasons and constant moisture cycles.
Clean, open grain gives the chosen finish the best foundation.
Available products include ecological wood oils made without synthetic additives.
Timely maintenance can refresh high-wear areas without creating a thick peeling film.

Good questions
High-pressure water can roughen fibres, mark softer grain and force moisture deeper into the surface. We use brushing, water and an appropriate wood cleaner. Pressure cleaning is reserved for suitable concrete and masonry.
A penetrating oil works within the wood rather than relying on a thick surface film. It enhances the grain, lets the wood breathe and supports simple maintenance before weathering becomes severe.

Yes. A deck renewal can be coordinated with fence work, yard cleanup, path repairs, painting or landscaping when the project and schedule allow.
